The Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning’s new exhibition, “In Situ: Women Artists in Place,” lets women artist decide where they fit into society through their works.

In situ is Latin for “in its original place.”

The show features pieces created by women artists in a variety of mediums.

On May 1, artists Andre St. Clair, Anh Nguyen, Alexandria Smith, Kimberly Mayhorn and Nicole Awai will be on hand to discuss their creations and their inspirations.

The talk is at 7 p.m., JCAL is located at 161-04 Jamaica Ave.

“In Situ: Women Artists in Place” runs through May 28.
