In March, the borough’s fancy turns to movies.

The 6th annual Queens World Film Festival opened Tuesday night with a special screening at the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria.

More than 130 showings take place through Sunday at MoMI, the Secret Theatre., P.S. 69 and All Saints Episcopal Church.

The closing night ceremony, taking place Saturday evening, includes the awards ceremony and a special screening of Susan Seidelman’s 1982 movie “Smithereens.”

A Q & A with Seidelman and IndieCollects Executive Director Sandra Schulberg will follow the movie.
