Legendary Broadway performer Barbara Cook brings her silvery soprano to the Kupferberg Center for the Arts at Queens College on May 10.

Cook, who originated iconic Broadway roles in “Carousel,” “She Loves Me,” “Candide” and of course “The Music Man.” continues to tour well into her seventh decade of performing and has no intention of stopping.

“Retire to what?” Cook asked. “I love singing, and as long as I can do it, I will.”

Surprisingly Cook admitted to having a favorite role. Even more surprising it was Anna in City Center’s 1960 revival of “The King and I,” opposite Farley Granger.

“It was a good production. All of Agnes de Mille’s choreography was recreated,” Cook said. “It was a beautiful production at City Center. I loved it. And we were not the likely people to have been cast in it.”
